CBeebies Star Brings Dino-mite Fun to WGS!

CBeebies superstar Andy Day visited Wolverhampton Grammar School on Tuesday, 18th June, to launch his magical debut children's book, Dino Dad, to hundreds of eager school children from across the city.

Known for his charismatic presence, Andy is the longest-serving CBeebies presenter and star of multiple programmes, most notably Andy's Adventures, which takes young viewers on fun-filled educational journeys through prehistoric times and exciting safari expeditions.

Beyond his TV presence, Andy champions individuality, acceptance, and tolerance as a patron of the Anti-Bullying Alliance and through his music with Andy and the Odd Socks Band.

In partnership with Puffin Books, Andy's event was a roaring success, igniting the imaginations of children aged 5 - 8 from five local schools with captivating dinosaur tales, lively sing-a-longs, dino dance-offs and a virtual interactive drawing session with Dino Dad illustrator, Steven Lenton. The excitement peaked when children had the chance to purchase signed copies of Dino Dad and snap memorable photos with the star.

Children have enjoyed a morning of songs, dancing and dinosaur quizzes all based around Andy's new children's book. Events such as these are truly life changing, as children take away precious memories of meeting one of their heroes, renewed dreams of achieving their own goals and an enthusiasm for reading. At Wolverhampton Grammar School, we truly want every child to discover the magic of a good book, and we thank Andy and Puffin Books for brilliantly supporting this work.  WGS Head librarian, zoe rowley.
